Laundry & Dry Cleaning at Palma Beach Resort Umm Al Quwain.

Eight people sharing a villa make a lot of washing in two days. Put it all in one bag: AED 99 covers 12kg and every extra kilo is AED 12; a lighter load of 6kg is AED 60. We return it to Palma Beach Resort folded, family by family if you ask.

For weddings, engagements and birthday dinners held at the resort. Kanduras and shirts cost AED 15 each, a saree or sherwani AED 40, a jalabiya AED 20 and an evening dress AED 65. Hand them over in the morning and they return that evening.

Outfits that travelled folded in suitcases need a press before the camera comes out. A basic abaya is AED 10, a kandura AED 12, an evening dress AED 40 and a bisht AED 30. Everything comes back hung within 24 hours.

For the robes and towels your family packed, not the resort’s own. A bathrobe is AED 16, a beach or pool towel AED 6 and a face towel AED 5. Most items return within a day; large duvets need 48 hours.

Dress shoes for the groom, heels for the bride’s sisters and trainers worn on the beach. Formal shoes and trainers cost AED 55 a pair, sandals AED 45 and kids’ shoes AED 35. Allow two to four days.

Evening clutches carried through a reception and duffel bags dragged across the sand. A clutch or handbag costs AED 45, a duffel AED 65 and an oversized handbag AED 55. Ready in three to five days.

A bridesmaid’s dress to take in, a groom’s trousers to shorten. Standard waist and hem work is AED 40, a full dress resize from AED 55 and a chiffon or beaded hem AED 55. Give us 48 to 72 hours before the event.

For families who live in Al Khor and nearby areas, never for the resort’s furnishings. Regular carpet is AED 20 per square metre and wool AED 26; curtains are AED 20, or AED 25 with blackout. Three days to return.

The resort hosts weddings, and gowns come away with marked hems and make-up on the bodice. Cleaning starts at AED 250, beaded gowns from AED 450, and a veil is AED 55. A preservation box adds AED 210. Seven to fourteen days.

Birthday parties and family days often bring a costumed character. We clean mascots for AED 200, AED 230 or AED 250 by size, plus AED 30 for each separate accessory. Allow three to five days before the next booking.

With several children in one villa, at least one toy ends up in the pool. Soft toys are cleaned by hand for AED 55, AED 70 or AED 120 by size, dried slowly and returned in two to three days.

For Umm Al Quwain households with zip-off sofa covers, not the resort’s furniture. Regular covers cost AED 35 and large AED 40; cushion covers are AED 10, AED 15 or AED 20. Back in two to three days.

A leather blazer for the wedding dinner or leather shoes that took a splash by the pool. Leather coats and blazers start at AED 130, jackets at AED 150 and shoes or boots at AED 180. Three to five days.
