How We Clean a Mascot in Dubai Production City
Inspect and Record
Every seam, glued joint and worn patch is checked and photographed first, so the costume's existing condition is on record before anything is cleaned.
Hand Clean and Sanitise
Body, head, gloves and feet are cleaned by hand in sections. The lining and head padding are sanitised and deodorised separately, because that is where the odour sits.
Air-Dry Flat and Check
Dried flat on racks at room temperature over a day or more, then checked for head fit and fur direction before packing. No heat, no tumbling, at any point.

Mascot Cleaning FAQs, Dubai Production City (IMPZ)
Yes, usually, once the lining and padding are treated properly. Odour sits in the lining and the padding inside the head, not in the outer fabric. Both are treated with a fabric-safe sanitiser and deodorised separately from the shell. We neutralise the smell rather than perfuming over it, so the costume is not strongly scented when worn.
- Lining and head padding sanitised as a separate step
- Odour neutralised, not masked with fragrance
- Sweat contact points treated individually
Yes, everything is handled as a single job and returned together. Cleaning pieces at different times is how a costume ends up mismatched, so everything goes through in one batch and comes back together. Separate items such as capes, signs and props are AED 30 each. List what is included when you book.
- Body, head, gloves and feet cleaned as one batch
- Detachable accessories AED 30 per piece
- Everything returned together as a matched set
Not all of them, and the doubtful ones are flagged first. Synthetic fur holds some marks for good, particularly makeup, dye transfer and old grass stains. Scrubbing them mats the pile, so each is spot-treated instead. You are told at inspection which marks should lift and which probably will not.
- Assessment given before cleaning, not after
- Makeup, dye transfer and grass are the hardest to shift
- Marks spot-treated individually to protect the pile
Shared costumes need it every few wears rather than seasonally. One event puts sweat into the lining, and a shared costume passes that between performers. Most teams in Dubai Production City (IMPZ) clean between bookings; schools go termly. Outdoor use shortens the interval.
- Shared costumes: clean between performers where possible
- Schools and nurseries: once a term is common
- Brand activations: clean before each campaign shoot
Sometimes, if the drying time still fits your date. The cleaning stage is quick; the costume then has to dry flat and unheated, and that part cannot be shortened without damaging the foam. If your date is tight, tell us at booking and we will say honestly whether it fits rather than promising and returning it damp.
- Tell us the Dubai Production City (IMPZ) event date before booking, not after
- Drying needs 24 to 48 hours minimum
- We say no rather than return a damp costume
The padding is treated separately from the outer shell. Head padding absorbs the most sweat and is the part most cleaners skip. It is sanitised and deodorised on its own, then dried flat so the internal shape holds. The harness and any straps are cleaned at the same time, since those sit against the skin.
- Head padding sanitised as its own step
- Harness and straps cleaned with it
- Dried flat so the internal shape holds
Yes, all full-body costumes take the same route through cleaning. Anything built from foam, synthetic fur and glued seams needs the same treatment: hand cleaning in sections, no drum, no heat, flat drying. Character suits, parade costumes and fursuits are all priced by size on the same scale as mascots.
- Character suits, parade costumes and fursuits
- Priced by size on the same scale
- Send a photo if you are unsure which size applies
Yes, recurring collections are available on a fixed schedule. Event companies, schools and venues that clean the same costumes repeatedly can book a standing collection rather than arranging each one. It is the same service and the same pricing; the difference is that we already know the costume and its history.
- Standing collections for repeat customers
- Same pricing, no contract required
- Common for event companies and schools in Dubai Production City (IMPZ)

Our drivers cover Dubai Production City (IMPZ) daily and collect mascots straight from your office, venue or store room. Costumes are bulky and awkward to move, which is usually why they go uncleaned for a whole season. The body, head, gloves and feet are cleaned together as one set so nothing comes back a different shade, then air-dried flat over 24 to 48 hours before the fit is checked again.
