Old Dubai on foot, and the clothes to show for it
Gateway Hotel puts guests within walking distance of Al Fahidi and BurJuman, so most days are spent outside. This is what the walks tend to do to clothes, and which service sorts it out.
Are my clothes ready for the airport?
Which flight are you catching? We assume three hours at the airport for international travel, plus the road from Al Souq Al Kabeer.
The airport is a short drive from Bur Dubai, usually 15 to 25 minutes by taxi outside the rush hour.

New purchases and a day of carrying bags leave linen creased. A jacket pressed is AED 25, trousers AED 12.

Evenings on the promenade end with shawarma on a cuff or a coffee ring on a skirt. A skirt dry cleaned is AED 21.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
No, the desk can look after the bag. Label it with your surname and room, tell us in the chat, and the driver collects from reception. Finished clothes go back to the same place.
- A text tells you when the bag is delivered
- Handy when you leave early for the museums
- The driver checks the contents against your message
Message your name, room and clothes on WhatsApp. The line, +971 50 384 1660, is run by Laundrykhalas and not by the hotel, and the reply carries the price and the time a driver can come.
- Fragrance-free washing on request
- Prices are confirmed before pickup
- Delivery is free from AED 30
A morning handover means an evening return. Dry cleaning that leaves before 12 noon is delivered by 11 pm, and later handovers come back within a day.
- Jacket AED 40
- Trousers AED 18
- A waistcoat adds AED 10
Washing is charged by the kilo, everything else by the piece. A 6kg load is AED 60, 12kg is AED 99, and shirts and suits have listed prices. A quote reaches you before the driver sets off.
- AED 15 for a shirt
- AED 50 for a two-piece suit
- AED 30 is the free-delivery threshold
The nearest one comes to you. A driver collects from the lobby and returns the order cleaned. Guests at Imperial Apartments, a few steps along the road, order the same way.
- Bathrobe AED 16
- Table cloth AED 15
- Apron AED 14
Both: weight for washing, piece for cleaning, which is how the price list is built. At Gateway Hotel a bag of daily clothes and a single dress can ride in the same pickup.
- AED 99 for 12kg
- AED 65 for an evening dress
- AED 9 for a hung shirt pressed
You do not need one, because a driver collects the bag from reception. The washing is done for you and comes back folded. Guests of Manhattan Avenue use the same pickup.
- A 6kg wash is AED 60
- A 12kg wash is AED 99
- Back within 24 hours
Yes, you can send it out, and we collect from reception. Fragrance-free washing is available at the same rate if you ask in the chat, and the whole bag is treated that way.
- No scented softener when you ask
- Same weighed price
- Back within a day
Dry cleaning handed over by 12 noon returns that evening. Washing and pressing take 24 hours, so a bag sent in the morning is ready the next day.
- Dry cleaning by noon is back by 11 pm
- Pool towels from the outdoor pool can join the laundry bag
- Hung or folded, as you ask
A fixed weekly pickup works well for a long stay. Pick a day in the chat and the driver comes at the same time each week.
- A 12kg wash bag is AED 99
- Each extra kilo is AED 12
- Pickup and return are free above AED 30
